Job Description and Requirements
Farm Volunteer duties include:
Helping with children ages four through twelve on farm-related tasks, chores, and activities. The volunteer does not need any prior knowledge related to these activities. The volunteer can elect to assist with whichever activities they feel most comfortable with.
Assisting with set up and clean up of camp activities as needed.
Assisting counselors, teachers, and Camp Director in running camp activities. Volunteers are not expected to plan or prepare for camp activities, unless they feel that they have a particular expertise they would like to share!
Helping to maintain the safety practices and standards set out by the Camp Director.
Adhering to all guidelines for Oakview Farm and the Farm Camp. No technology use will be allowed during camp hours. This includes listening to music, texting, phone calls, social media. The camp Director's phone number will be used for emergencies as needed. Photography of camp participants on personal cell phones is also strictly prohibited.
Participate in short inservice related to the Farm Camp's methodology, nature-based play, and first aid/weather related incidents.
Volunteers will receive a $25 gift card for each week that they help at Farm Camp.
About Oakview Farm Camp
Oakview Farm Camp is a nature-based outdoor-only Summer Farm camp for ages four through twelve. This is our fourth year of operation, proudly serving children and their families in the Middle Tennessee area. Our mission is to instill a sense of awe and wonder in children for the natural world, through hands-on experiences related to small-scale, sustainable farming.
