About the event

American Sign Language (ASL) on the Farm Class will cover:

  • What American Sign Language is (and is not)

  • Etiquette in using American Sign Language with native users

  • Introductory signs, phrases and sentences

  • Functional ASL vocabulary that you can use immediately!

About the Instructor:   Mr. Shaffer is Hard-of-hearing and is a Teacher for Deaf and Hard-of-hearing students.  He has been using ASL for over twenty years and attended Gallaudet University, the world's only University for Deaf/Hard-of-hearing people.   Mr. Shaffer may have guest attendees who are native ASL users assist with this class.
